As we close out 2024, we couldn’t be more excited about everything we’ve accomplished at Scoop this year. It’s been a year of learning, innovating, and growing beyond our expectations. Not only did we launch some game-changing features, but we were also recognized as one of the hottest big data startups of 2024—and we couldn’t have done it without our amazing team and the incredible support from our clients!
From building foundational infrastructure to embracing cutting-edge AI capabilities, 2024 has truly been a turning point for us. Here’s a quick recap of our journey and what made this year unforgettable.
Scoop’s Recognition: One of the Hottest Big Data Startups of 2024
2024 has been a year of remarkable growth and innovation for Scoop, when we received the news that we’ve been recognized as one of the hottest big data startups of 2024, we couldn’t have been more thrilled. This recognition was a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team, as well as the value that our platform is bringing to the market. Being named among the top startups in a highly competitive industry like data analytics was an incredible achievement—and one that motivated us to keep pushing forward.
The honor didn’t just validate the work we’ve done so far; it reinforced our belief that the future of BI is about accessibility, simplicity, and actionability. Traditional BI has often been about complex tools that only a small segment of employees could use. We’re proud to be changing that narrative and empowering a whole new generation of users—across departments—to make smarter, data-driven decisions.
The Year that Set the Stage: Laying the Groundwork
We kicked off 2024 with a clear mission: to simplify data access and empower teams to make smarter, faster decisions with ease. To do that, we knew we had to build the right infrastructure. From day one, our team worked tirelessly behind the scenes to refine the Scoop platform and ensure that it could seamlessly capture, process, and make sense of complex data—all in real-time.
In addition to building out our infrastructure, one of our major challenges was addressing the traditional hurdles that many organizations face with business intelligence (BI). BI has often been a domain of specialized experts with extensive technical knowledge. In our view, that needed to change. It shouldn’t be a massive undertaking just to get your data organized, clean, and actionable.
That’s why we focused heavily on creating a platform that could eliminate the friction in traditional BI tools. Our aim was to make it easier for teams—whether in revenue ops, marketing ops, sales ops, or customer success—to get access to the data they need, without requiring a dedicated data science team.
It was a big undertaking, but by mid-year, we had completed the foundation for what would become the future of BI.
A Game-Changing Launch: Introducing Recipes and Instant Recipes
The true highlight of the year came when we launched Recipes and Instant Recipes—two groundbreaking tools that revolutionized the way our users interact with data. These features allowed users to go from raw, unprocessed data to meaningful insights in a fraction of the time.
Recipes made it easier to automate complex data transformations, such as merging datasets, calculating KPIs, and generating reports. With the click of a button, users could create personalized reports based on specific needs, reducing the need for technical expertise or complex queries.
Then came Instant Recipes—an even more powerful tool that automatically generated complete reports for users based on their business questions. For example, if a user asked, “What drove our conversions last quarter?” Scoop would generate a fully configured report that included relevant filters, KPIs, and trends in just moments.
This shift from manual, labor-intensive data processing to automated, AI-powered insights marked a major milestone for Scoop and set the tone for the future. We knew that enabling our users to act on insights, rather than just looking at static reports, was going to transform the way businesses approach data.
AI and Scoop: Paving the Way for Smarter Decision-Making
AI was a big focus for us in 2024. As AI technologies rapidly advanced, we saw an incredible opportunity to leverage generative AI to make business intelligence smarter, more intuitive, and more efficient.
Our goal with AI was not to simply add a chatbot or a natural language processing (NLP) interface. Instead, we set out to integrate AI-powered capabilities that could actually transform the way users interact with data. One of the key highlights was the integration of generative AI into our platform. This feature allowed users to simply ask questions in natural language—such as “What drove the sales dip last month?”—and Scoop’s AI would automatically build a full analysis pipeline, including the right queries, KPIs, and data manipulations to answer the question.
What truly surprised us was how quickly the AI evolved and the level of sophistication it reached. While AI-powered analytics were once considered a nice-to-have feature, Scoop’s integration of AI quickly became the core of how we help our customers make smarter decisions. This wasn’t about just querying the data—it was about enabling teams to receive actionable insights in real-time, with less friction and less dependency on technical teams.
Evolving from Descriptive to Predictive and Prescriptive Analytics
One of the most significant shifts we’ve seen in BI over the past year is the move from descriptive analytics (what happened) to predictive and prescriptive analytics (what will happen, and what should we do about it?). At Scoop, we’ve been focusing on leveraging the power of AI to not just understand what happened in the past but to help teams predict future trends and take action based on those insights.
Scoop’s infrastructure has always focused on simplifying data capture, processing, and integration. In 2024, we started to layer intelligence on top of that infrastructure with predictive modeling and automated insights. By the end of the year, our users could ask questions like, “What’s likely to happen if we continue down this path?” and receive actionable suggestions based on data-driven insights.
This predictive and prescriptive approach was something we’d always envisioned as part of Scoop’s future, and we’re excited that it’s finally becoming a reality. We know that this capability will continue to evolve, and as we refine our AI models and make them even more sophisticated, we’re eager to see the kind of insights they’ll generate for our clients.
From Infrastructure to Utility: Maximizing the Value of Your Data
As we near the end of 2024, we’re reflecting on our journey from building the core infrastructure of the Scoop platform to now focusing on maximizing the value and utility of the data within it. We knew that getting the infrastructure right was critical, but now, our goal is to help our users extract as much value as possible from the data they’re collecting.
Through tools like Recipes, Instant Recipes, and AI-driven insights, Scoop has transformed from a simple data platform to a robust, end-to-end solution that integrates analysis, automation, and storytelling. Our platform doesn’t just help users understand their data—it helps them take action and communicate their findings across teams.
The move toward actionable, presentation-ready insights has been a game-changer for our users. In the past, BI was often about creating reports that sat in a dashboard. Today, Scoop is enabling users to create and present AI-driven, live-data reports and presentations directly in the platform or sync them to PowerPoint for easy sharing across teams. We’ve reduced the friction between analysis and communication, and as a result, teams are making better, faster decisions with fewer roadblocks.
What’s Next: Scaling Insight, Not Complexity
Looking ahead to 2025, one thing is clear: BI tools must scale insight, not complexity. As the demand for smarter, faster decision-making increases, we’re focusing on expanding the predictive capabilities and AI automation of our platform. Our goal is to help businesses of all sizes leverage their data in ways that drive real, actionable outcomes.
At Scoop, we’re focused on breaking down the barriers to high-level analytics and making it possible for more teams to unlock the power of their data without needing massive technical expertise or infrastructure costs. The future of BI is about simplicity, accessibility, and leveraging AI to make smarter decisions at scale.
A Year to Remember
2024 has been a transformative year for Scoop, and we couldn’t be more excited for what’s ahead. From building the foundation to layering AI and predictive capabilities on top, we’ve made incredible strides in reshaping the future of BI. As we enter 2025, we remain committed to empowering our users with the tools they need to make smarter decisions, faster.
Thank you to our amazing team, clients, and partners who made this year a success. We look forward to continuing this journey and delivering even more value in the year to come. Here’s to 2025—the year of smarter data, smarter decisions, and bigger success!
